ASFW is Africa‘s Biggest Trade Event for the Textile, Apparel, Leather and Fashion Industry.
With its international visitor profile and high proportion of decision makers, the international exhibition is dedicated to sourcing as well as machinery, home décor, beauty and service acts as a mood barometer for the entire business. In 2025, ASFW celebrated the 11th edition in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and 4th edition in Nairobi, Kenya.
From 30 October – 2 November 2025, ASFW Addis Ababa welcomed 189 exhibitors from 22 countries and 4337 trade visitors from 63 countries.
A Senegalese delegation leaded by the GIZ Invest for Jobs Program attended the exhibition for the for the third consecutive year.
Invest for Jobs technical team, by the participation of Dr Stephan KUNZ, Program Director shared the context of Senegalese textile industry and the benefits of investing and making business in the country, which is increasingly positioning itself as an economic hub in West Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. It was the opportunity through different panels to share some insights about :
- benefits for cotton certification to reach international markets et attract buyers;
- need for robust textile infrastructure to support the expansion of the textile industry in Africa.
Three Senegalese designers in the fashion industry (Sokolata, Sayana) and the leather industry (Jolof Cuir) sucessfully represented Senegal through their presence and exhibition of products made in Senegal, whose quality was widely recognized and acclaimed. The Senegalese designers were also selected among the best designers participating in the highly selective fashion show reserved for industry buyers and VIP guests at the event.
