Large-scale textile production at Domitexka (www.domitexka.sn) is slowly gaining momentum. On 20 May 2025, a delegation from German machine manufacturer Saurer (www.saurer.com) visited the company. In this context, a concept for the employability of the new workforce was discussed with the GIZ. Using a dual approach, young women and men are to be prepared, in particular, for the new spinning machines.
Since February 2025, the Domitexka training centre has been approved by the Minister for Vocational and Technical Training. The centre was renovated with the help of GIZ. Nine textile trades will be trained on site. Human Resources Director Ababacar DIAKHATE has set a target of 1,000 trainees.
The municipality of Kaolack is also supporting Domitexka’s framework conditions and is building a new paved road so that lorries will soon be able to transport yarns and fabrics without any problems.
