The Ministry of Industry and Trade plays a central role in the development and promotion of Senegal’s textile industry. This focus includes the cotton industry, the artisanal textile industry, and the garment manufacturing sector.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for developing and implementing industrial policies, including those related to the textile sector; facilitating the growth of textile businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and artisanal industries; and promoting the export of Senegalese textile products on the international market.
It plays a central role in the development and promotion of Senegal’s textile industry by encouraging innovation and the modernization of textile industries, with the aim of improving the sector’s competitiveness and ensuring the quality of textile products and compliance with current standards.
